Antique Framed Needlework Hand Embroidery Alphabet Sampler Dated 1872

An antique framed hand embroidery alphabet sampler.

The work features the full alphabet with both capital and lower-case letters, has the makers name and age, and at the bottom is dated August 22nd 1872.

The frame size is approximately 33cm x 30cm

The back of the frame has a sticker for Furness Galleries

Donated used. The embroidery has some minor stains on it, but is in good condition, particularly for its age. The tape on the back of the frame has weakened and some sellotape has been placed over to keep the items in place, but it is fairly weak and will need re-taping to be fully secure.
