About Us
Millom And Around The Combe C.I.C, also known as (MACCG).
We are a small team of individuals who have come together to form a Community Interest Company aimed at helping our community, our core aims are the relief of poverty and financial hardship to residents living in Millom and around the Combe, by providing Free Food and essentials to individuals and families in need whilst working with other charities and organisations who have the same aims and values.
We also strive to offer items in our Community Shop selling pre-loved clothing, accessories and homewares at affordable prices for all, to ensure that everyone can afford to access the goods which are very kindly donated to us.
What We Do
We have a small Community Shop of which we are very proud, which sells pre-loved clothing, accessories and homewares all at very affordable prices to ensure that everyone can access our items, school uniforms are offered FREE....we offer FREE food to residents every Tuesday which is aimed at tackling food poverty within our community and also reducing food waste as many of our items would have been destined for landfill.
We work in close partnership with South Copeland Disability Group (SCDG) who we can refer people to who require any assistance with the following:
· PIP Form completions
· Representation at Tribunals
· Reporting of Hate Crimes
· Report Mis-use of Parking
· Advice on Disability Aids (Showers, Grab Bars etc.)
Also assistance and advice regarding funding for adaptations etc.
We are huge advocates on linked in working with many organisations to help build a network of advice, support and signposting to residents of Millom and around the Combe area, given our geographical position as the most isolated town in the whole of Cumbria.
