About Us
Global Care is a registered international Christian children’s charity.
For over 40 years we have pioneered initiatives supporting the most
vulnerable children and young people in Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and
Central America. Our support comes from churches, schools, individuals, and families,
through fundraising and sponsorship, to help us develop new and existing
projects.
We aim to support the most vulnerable children and young people,
through education, vocational training, feeding and welfare care. We seek effective long-term
solutions, leading to independence and self-sufficiency.
What We Do
Evidence clearly shows that education is the most effective way to break the poverty cycle, and
education is at the centre of all our international projects.
Sometimes however, it is not enough to just provide schools and educational
resources. Other barriers prevent children from accessing or succeeding in
education and we seek to dismantle these as well. Poor health and hunger
prevent children from attending or performing well, orphans and street
children lack proper protection and support to succeed, discrimination due
to ethnicity or disability excludes children from education
To enable the education, we provide to have the greatest impact on the
lives of the children we support our sponsorship schemes and partnership
agreements also cover children’s basic health and welfare needs.
