The Antiquary's Books The Brasses of England by Herbert W. Macklin 1907 First Ed.

The Antiquary's Books The Brasses of England by Herbert W. Macklin 1907 First Ed.

This item was donated used and will show wear from age and use. The most notable is that the last few pages have been torn out. We're unsure what these pages contained, as the book contents page only goes up to the "General Index", which is fully complete. The next 3 pages after the general index (which are unnumbered) are a list of other past and future Antiquary's books. It is after this list that there's about a dozen or so pages torn out, leaving just the last couple inches of the pages. Since these pages came at the very end, after even advertisements for the other books in the set, we'd assume they were unimportant, but we cannot be sure.

There is also a small newspaper clipping on the back of the front cover titled "The brasses of England" and a loose, larger portion of a newspaper page about "the gentle art of brass rubbing". A name has been written on the front page, and is dated 22.1.61.
